MVSC is pleased to announce our seventh annual Spring Soccer Academy for experienced competitive players. Our U10-15 Spring Academy is open only to players who have played, or who would like to play on competitive teams, and whose birthdates fall between August 1, 1997 and July 31, 2003*. The program is designed to provide participants with a fun, developmental training opportunity during the spring off-season. The Spring Academy will emphasize individual skill development, as well as tactical and fitness-related components of play in small-sided game formats (1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3, 4 vs. 4, etc.). In addition, our Spring Academy will incorporate a coordination/movement mechanics component in each of our training sessions. Our Coaching Staff will implement a strong, established soccer curriculum, which has been tailored specifically for our competitive program’s player pool. Players will be grouped by age, ability, and gender to ensure an appropriate level of challenge for each participant. Our Academy training program is an excellent means for players to improve their soccer abilities in conjunction with their participation in other spring sports.
*Younger players who played on one of our U9 Competitive Teams during the fall of 2011 are invited to register in this program.
MVSC will hold our Competitive Team Tryouts in late April and early May. Participation in our Spring Academy is NOT required to try out for our Fall Competitive teams. However, spring participation will facilitate the skill development and disciplined training habits necessary to succeed in our fall competitive program.
SCHEDULE
The Academy program will begin the week of Monday, March 12 and the final training session will take place on Thursday, May 17. There will be no training sessions during the week of April 9-13. Note: We have added make-up sessions for the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday groups. These sessions will run on May 22, 23 and 24, respectively.

Notes:
In the event of heavy rainfall, please call 381-KICK (381-5425) after 3:00pm on the day of training to find out if the field is closed. If Hauke South is closed due to rain, we may cancel the session (in which case a make-up session will be added).
As a bonus, ALL players who register for 9, 18 or 27 sessions are invited to participate in small-sided game days on 5 Sundays at Bayfront at no additional cost. Bonus Sunday game sessions for Boys and Girls will take place on March 18, 25, April 1, 15 and 22 at Bayfront Park, from 1:15pm-2:30pm. There will be no set teams for these games.
WHO COACHES?
Our Academy Program will be staffed by experienced professional coaches from MVSC’s Competitive Program.
COST
$320 – 3 sessions per week* (27 total) + 5 bonus Sunday game days
$280 – 2 Session per week (18 total) + 5 bonus Sunday game days
$170 – 1 Session per week (9 total) + 5 bonus Sunday game days
* Training 3 X per week is only recommended for players who are exceptionally motivated to play soccer AND who do not have a full plate of other spring activities they’re trying to juggle simultaneously!
In addition, players may drop in on any weekday training or weekend game day for $30 per session (if dropping in, please bring a completed registration form and make checks payable to “MVSC”). Players may also join the program on a regular basis at any time after our program has started, at a prorated fee (please contact Rick Fullerton at fullertonsoccer@yahoo.com).

WHAT TO BRING?
Participants should bring a soccer ball water bottle, cleats, shin guards, and a desire to work hard and improve!
