Dear Official:
My name is Rafael (Rafa) Nunn, MVSC Referee Assignor. I have put the following set of instructions to make it as easy as possible for you to REGISTER with the MVSC POOL of OFFICIALS:
IMPORTANT: DON’T use the same ID and password that you or your parent utilized to register you for the Referee Course.
IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL STEPS:
YOU WILL RECEIVE A TEXT MESSAGE IN ADDITION TO AN EMAIL WHEN YOU ARE GIVEN ASSIGNMENTS OR THERE ARE CHANGES TO YOUR ASSIGNED GAMES. YOU STILL MUST TAP ON THE MESSAGE (in your cell phone: The top one is to accept, the bottom is to decline) TO ACCEPT (OR DECLINE) ASAP
Referees MUST check their email address’s INBOX DAILY! Information pertaining to game postings, training, mentoring, news, announcements, assignments, game changes (cancellations included) and questions to you about your games (when needed) are sent VIA EMAIL .
In order to see any games that have positions open for requesting assignment, you must set your availability to AVAILABLE for the dates you are.
NOTE: It is highly recommended that you set ALL THE WEEKENDS to AVAILABLE first, then, when you realize you will NOT be available to officiate for MVSC on any given date, change your availability for those dates to unavailable.
SETTING YOUR AVAILABILITY:
SELF ASSIGN SET UP:
You should now be able to see any games that are listed and available for you to request assignment.
If there are any openings to any game(s), you should see the game(s) listed. Once you decide which games you WANT, you must go to the far right of the game(s) and click on "request game".
You are encouraged to "request" as many games as you wish to Officiate. You may not get all of them but doing so increases the odds that you will get more. Remember only to request games that you WILL be accepting if assigned. If you are uncertain about your availability, do not request them.
If you are selected for an assignment, you will receive an email and/or cell phone text message notifying you so (assuming you set up your notifications properly as suggested above).
The assigning process is complex and time consuming. In order to fill all the open positions in a timely fashion and to prevent the possibility of any position remaining vacant by the time of kick off, it is of PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE that you accept or decline your assignment(s) as early as you can. Those of you who have a cell phone can accept or decline within seconds.
One of my main responsibilities as an Assignor is to do everything within my power to ensure all of the scheduled games get covered with a full crew of Referees. Therefore, it is imperative that you notify me BOTH via phone call and email ASAP whenever you realize that you will NOT be able to keep your commitment to officiate at any of your ACCEPTED assignments.
All the Officials are expected to get to the fields early enough to check the field of play, check in the two teams, perform a thorough pregame with the other assigned Officials, to be mentally and physically prepared, ready to provide their maximum effort to the players and the sport of Soccer.
Furthermore, bring to your match the contact information of both the Officials you will be working with (when applicable) and mine so that you can call them and/or me if an unforeseen event or an emergency will either delay your timely arrival to the field or in case that you will not make it all.
Looking forward to working with you.
In soccer,
Rafael (Rafa) Nunn
