On Saturday, December 19, 2009, the Mill Valley Soccer Club's U11 Boys Fusion won 1 - 0 against the Diablo FC 98 from Concord to win the NorCal Super 3 State Cup Championship in Sacramento. The win earned the Mill Valley Fusion a final 5th place ranking out of 104 Class 1 select U11 competitive teams in Northern California who entered the State Cup tournament.

The Fusion team entered State Cup after a strong season posting of 12-3-0 for the regular season. For the year, Fusion had a record of 21 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses, including winning 2 of 3 tournaments the team entered this season. On Saturday the Fusion got off to a fast start with the first goal occurring within 5 minutes of the start of the game. Fusion's Nate Joseph cross kicked to Marco Da Cunha who scored with a crisp header.

The two teams played equally well through the first period and well into the second period, waging a largely mid-field defensive battle. In the final minutes Diablo threatened Fusion's lead with a couple shots on goal that were stopped by the good efforts of the Fusion defense. Nate

U12 Rockers Persevere

U12 MVSC Rockers
The Mill Valley Soccer Club's U12 Rockers' run through the Norcal State Cup ended in a 1-0 loss to South Valley United (Visalia, CA) in Woodland, CA on Sunday December 19th. Nevertheless, it capped a very successful year for the team. The girls won all three of their second round State Cup games (versus teams from Concord, Walnut Creek and Fremont), placing them in the second seed in the Gold division at the year-end State Cup Tournament. In the quarter and semi-finals they posted two shut-outs versus the Elk Grove Fusion (2-0) and the Tracy Fireballs (6-0). In the finals, the team created numerous chances, especially in the second half with the wind at their backs, but Visalia's goalie was superb. In the end there were smiles all around after the team compiled an overall season record of 11 wins, 5 losses and 3 draws.

U11 Rockers Red Go undefeated and Win League Championship!
Coach Javier Alvarado Formed a Class 3 Team that was Actually in a Class All by Themselves

Led by forwards Camille Bayer, Summer Hohmann, Ally Wallack and Daphne James this solid group of young ladies came together to dominate the Marin County region of NorCal premier soccer, going 10-0.

Mixing brilliant passing and quick transitions was the play of midfielders Anne Schulze, Maggie Alves, Emily Hawkins, Emma Wienswig, Emma Steinberg, and Maddie Johnson. Inspired goal tending by Sarah Fingerhood and the impenetrable defense of Ella Flax, Taualee "T" Lepolo, and Hannah Berg broke the spirits of every team the Rockers Red encountered.
