MVSC and the Marin Soccer Community mourn the untimely death of Eloi Vasquez. Eloi played with MVSC for three years, after which time he played for Marin FC. This past fall Eloi played as a freshman for UC Berkeley's Mens Soccer Team. During his high school years, Eloi worked as an MVSC referee (earning "Referee of the Year" award one year), and he gave back to the game and to our community as a Coach, mentor, role model, and friend.
"Eloi was one of the most dedicated, disciplined and driven young athletes I've seen come through Marin in the past 18 years. He has been and always will be a standout example many Marin Coaches refer to when speaking to young athletes about what it takes to wholeheartedly pursue your dreams -- both on and off the field," Rick Fullerton commented. "Eloi's humble, caring, infectiously positive personality will forever touch and inspire those of us fortunate enough to have known him."
Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to Eloi's family and loved ones.
