Spring Academy

2022 SPRING ACADEMY
MVSC is pleased to announce our 18th annual Spring Academy soccer program.  The Spring Academy is open to players of all levels whose birth dates fall between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2016.  Our program will provide participants with a fun, developmental training opportunity during the spring season.  Our Academy training program is also an excellent means for players to improve their soccer abilities in conjunction with their participation in other spring sports.

More than 600 registrants participated in 2021, and space is limited.  We've experienced some slight delays in scheduling, so opening has been delayed one week.

Our Professional Coaching Staff will implement a strong, established soccer curriculum which emphasizes:

  • Individual skill development
  • Tactical components of play in small-sided game formats (1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3, 4 vs. 4, etc.).
  • Coordination/movement mechanics and fitness
  • Players will be grouped by gender*, age, and level of play in order to ensure an appropriate curriculum and level of challenge for all participants
  • We are offering Goalkeeper sessions with Pro Coach Kellis Johnson (please note that Goalkeeper sessions start the week of March 21).

*For sessions referred to as "Coed," participants will be grouped by gender whenever numbers permit.

Participation in our Spring Academy is NOT required to tryout for MVSC's fall-based Competitive or Development teams.  However, spring participation will facilitate the skill development and disciplined training habits necessary to enjoy success in these programs.

*Any player who is registered with a Competitive Team in a non-MVSC club must obtain written permission from their club's Director of Coaching and e-mail that permission to fullertonsoccer@yahoo.com prior to registering with our program.

SCHEDULE
The Academy program will begin the week of Monday, March 14 and the final training session will take place on Friday, May 13.  Goalkeeper sessions begin the week of March 21.  There will be no training sessions during the week of April 4-8.
