Premier Rec

MVSC Premier Rec Program

The MVSC Premier Rec Program showcases our continuing commitment to instilling a love for the game of soccer, and supporting the hopes, dreams and development of Mill Valley’s youth athletes!

The MVSC Recreational program was founded in 1978, and the MVSC Development program was its sister league for 10 years.  In 2022, the programs merged to bring the best of both into one fall soccer program!

The MVSC Premier Rec Program makes the most of volunteer parent coaches and friend-based teams, paired with professional coaching and individual player development opportunities.  Offered in an all-inclusive environment with no tryouts, our Premier Rec program strives to honor friend and school requests while building a balanced playing league for all to enjoy.

The MVSC Premier Rec Program has three distinct phases, based on the age and developmental interests of your child:

  • Kindergarten:  Teams train once per week for 45 minutes, with professional coaching at all practices.  Weekend games are managed by volunteer coaches.

K teams play weekend games in-house, exclusively with MVSC.

  • 1st - 3rd Grade:  Teams train once per week, with their volunteer parent coach. Teams play games each weekend with their volunteer coach. Players are also offered a second day of weekly practice with our professional coaching staff.  These professionally coached academy style* training sessions consist of a second weekly practice that is separate from your child’s team practice, and aim to maximize the developmental opportunities for the players who want it most.  Cost for professional training sessions is included in the registration fee, but parents are welcome to “Opt-Out” of this supplemental training to receive a discount.
*In academy style training sessions, pro coaches will group players by age, gender and soccer skill, and players may or may not train with friends and teammates.

  • 4th Grade - High School:  Teams train twice per week for 90 minutes.  All training will be with their team.  One weekly practice will be run by the volunteer coach, and a second weekly practice will be run by a professional coach.  Cost of professional coaching is included in the registration fee.  Weekend games will be played as a team with your volunteer coach.

1st Grade - 8th Grade teams may play in MISA South, with cooperative league play including teams from Corte Madera Football Club (“CMFC”) and the Tiburon Peninsula Soccer Club (“TPSC”).

High School teams play in MISA, with cooperative league play across Marin County with eight other soccer clubs.
